12/29/2015 · The button should be pushed toward to back of the mouse, not towards the front. Once you have it open, I would thoroughly look it over to see what was causing it to stick. Possible the batteries corroded. I had that happen to a mouse once. Made it hard but not impossible to open the cover. Took a while to clean it up and make it usable again.
